"New" Studio Space

Through a local Hong Kong music forum Talkmusic.org, Tunji got hooked up with a local rock band called LazyI. Turns out that their drummer was leaving the band and they were looking for a drummer, now Tunji joins the 3 piece band and ended up buying the previous drummer's set. He's much happier these days now that he can go and bang the crap out of some drums.

LazyI already has a small space that they use as studio. It's located in Nga Tao Kok on the top (as in roof top) floor of some industrial building, where apparently there are A LOT of other bands also practice. The leasing lady told us they have about 80 musicians who use various spaces in the 2 buildings. A most unlikely location. Who would have guessed! Though small, it's very funtional and serves the purpose.

Meanwhile Tunji met another guitarist/singer from Togo here in Hong Kong. They played together a little bit in the studio and Tunji hopes to do so again. His name is Thierry Nkelli Faha. "Terry" seems to be very personable, great performer, charming and a good singer. He writes some pretty cool songs. We met him at one of his shows and bought a CD from him. Other than performing here in HK, he also jets over to Shanghai sometimes and do shows there with another band. Quite the international traveller/musician is he.

Tunji strikes a pose:

His "new" set.
