There was a huge public protest and march at the Victoria Park yesterday. The march was to show the government the unrest of people of Hong Kong about its electorial reform, and the pace of bringing universal sufferage to reality.
The estimates of the turn out ranged from 60,000 to 250,000. I don't know which figure to believe, but I'm just glad to see that there was such a crowd who showed up. I have wanted to go, but since it was a Sunday, I just didn't feel good about leaving mom at home with Tunji all by himself, even though I know he wouldn't have minded.
You can read more about it on one of the English newpapers in town, The Standard, though their coverage isn't as detailed as some of the other newspapers'. On one of the Chinese papers, Apple Daily, there were huge spreads of interviews and pictures of the march.
