New Digs

We are starting to get more use to our new place. The noise factor has slowly faded more to the background and we don't notice it as much as in the beginning anymore. I'm sure in a few weeks, we'll be like, "Noise? What noise? What are you talking about? You must be hearing things."

Anyway, here are a few pictures... it actually doesn't look so bad, and the space seems to come across looking bigger than it really is in the pictures.

Front door to your left, bathroom to your right. I stood in the kitchen as I took this picture:

Shoes cabinet at the front door. Bathroom on the left and kitchen to the right:

Taken from our "bedroom" area:

This is where I spend a lot of my time! :) In fact, this is where I am RIGHT NOW!!

I'm sure you don't need any explaination on this one:

The fact that we need to step up to get in, I always feel like I'm on stage performing go-go dance or something whenever I take a shower:

Sorry about the lighting. This is actually a pretty good size kitchen for Hong Kong:

Our bed "room" area. Yes, that building IS THAT CLOSE:

Street right below our window. That's the same building that's right across from our bedroom window:

The following pictures were all taken right ourside our bed "room" window:

MacDonald's beef rice burger ad on the double decker bus. Only in HK of course:

It shakes, rattles and rolls along the tracks, and certainly doesn't help in reducing the noise factor for us, but it is still one of my favorite modes of transportation in Hong Kong. The trolley, or the tram, (or the direct Chinese translation, electric car) has been around since 1904. Nobody calls it by its proper name here though, as the locals all call it endearingly "ding ding" after the bell it has to warn people off its tracks:

Now, I don't know if we'll get herpes from eating at this restaurant called Herpa, but it's got this airplane theme going on. Don't ask me why, 'cause I wouldn't be able to tell you. But if anyone wants to get anything related to playing table tennis, the shop with the signage on your lower left hand corner will be able to provide.

If you look real hard from our windows (without the benefit of the zoom from the camera), you'll see a sliver of green, and that's the Happy Valley Racecourse where you can watch and bet on horse racing.
