Luncheons

Well, I've been busy playing the "lady who lunches" role the past couple of days. I met up with Jane, Carolyn and Joanne at the Hawaii State Art Museum the other day, there's a new restaurant at the museum called DownTown, operated by the same people from Towne right here in Kaimuki. Very nicely done and tasty. Great to see the ladies again, Jane is forever self deprecating and funny. She really should write a book on her life and all her marriages! Joanne just return from her singing trip in the Alps. In addition to churches and public squares, their group also sang in the meadows!!! Can you believe it? How wonderful is that, huh!! She's already busy planning her upcoming trip to NYC and Prague with some of her family members. How I wish I could go with her to Prague! Carolyn is still slaving away for HTY. That woman doesn't waste anytime, she has already recruited me to help with their book fair at Barnes & Noble next weekend! Ha!

I was gonna go see Harry Potter with Hester, but turned out that the girl just couldn't wait and went and saw it without me already! So we just went to have dinner. Sounds like she's enjoying her Ed work at Hawaii Theatre, which is great, especially since she was so anxious about starting there and how some people felt at HTY on her leaving. She will be moving to Ka'a'awa end of this month for a year. I look forward to visiting her there!

Then yesterday, I caught up with Heidi, Nomes, Ann and even little Heather who is no longer little. In fact, she'll be going to UH this fall! We had lunch at Cafe Imperial, their katsu is usually very good. They all seem to be doing well. Heidi and Jeff got a new house in Ewa. Nomes is as naughty and funny as ever, which is probably a good sign of doing well and happy with life.

I didn't carry my camera with me, so I don't have any current pictures to show, but here is a picture that was taken almost 2 years ago with Heidi, Ro, and Nomes. And since Nomes told me that she wants to see herself on my blog, I thought I should humor her!! :) Well, I wouldn't have done so if she didn't tell me that I don't have 2 readers only, but 3! Her being the 3rd!

Tunji and I finally made it to the beach the other day. I know, sad, but since we got back, we have all these social outings, so we haven't even been going to the beach! Anyway, the giant slipper that you see below was a giveaway all the way from a shoe store in Hong Kong. We figure here would be the perfect place to use something as silly as this.
