We just had our final walk through at our new place this afternoon. Everything seems to be in order. However, "they" must have shrunk the bedrooms and somehow moved that Abattoir closer since we were there last time, I swear! The whole place seems smaller than I remembered, and that giant Abattoir seems to be so much closer! How did that happen?
The official signing and handing over of the keys won't be till Monday, and we won't be moving in till mid December. There are still quite a bit of work that needs to be done. A fresh coat of paint will help a lot. We have (had) some ideas on how to get some cabinets made, but after seeing and realizing really how small the place is, we may have to alter some of our plans.
A lot of real furniture and appliances purchasing will be happening really soon. You would think this major shopping extravaganza would excites me. On the contrary, somehow it fills me with dread and nervousness. We'll be spending a lot of money on getting a bunch of large and major items that we most probably will leave behind in a couple, or few, years. It's not like we're buying these things that will last us "for the rest of our lives". Though I guess nothing really last a life time anymore these days. What we probably will do is get a few decent pieces that we think will be worthwhile to keep and ship back with us to Hawaii when we go back.
