i've been MIA for such a long time, not that anybody misses me since nobody reads this thing anyway... but life has been a little hectic and overwhelming lately. each evening i just feel exhausted and fell into bed. in fact, i haven't even been online or check out various blogs as much as i normally do.
our friends mike, linda and oskar came and went. they arrived on sunday 15th, and left yesterday 18th. their trip has been postponed more than once so i'm just glad that they finally made it. even though it wasn't the most ideal time to have visitors right now, it was nice that we got to spend time together and show them around town a little bit. oskar is so so cute. looks like an angel. we ended up putting them down in the basement. even though it wasn't completely finished, i hope it was okay for them.
another snag we hit is with our current tenant. for some very strange reasons, he had it in his head that upon the end of his lease, it will just go automatically into a month to month agreement. i have no idea why would he think that, 'cause under no circumstance had we ever even remotely suggested that that would be a possibility. in fact, on two occassion when he brought up the subject and asked us that question, we said no both times. i saddens me to see that our relationship is deteriorating. he has been nothing but a model tenant. it has been such a joy to have him, it's very unfortunate that it's developing this way. i hope we can eventually get things somewhat resolved and at least we can part at friendly terms when the time comes. so as a peace token, we will check in with christina and see if things are still on schedule. if she needs a bit more time than the mid august deadline, that might buy our tenant a little more time to look for another place.
good news is that eric johnson, the new artistic director for HTY, has agreed to stay at our house starting june 1st, and will move into the apartment when tunji sister arrives. at which time, our current tenant will has to leave so eric can move into it.
this is all getting a bit complicated. i just hope that things will work out at the end. hard to feel at ease with all this musical houses business going on while we're not gonna be here.
