Train wreck

Last night we played probably one of our worst set yet! Ha. I made numurous little mistakes, at times my sound just kinda dropped out. But people were nice enough not to mention that.

Most terrible was for our drummer, sound guy was trying to help, but he pushed the set way too far and practically ended up on his lap with no room for him to move. Ride cymbals also got pushed way behind him, all this smack in the middle of a step up and changes of a song which got some pretty heavy rythm going on. That totally messed him up and in turn we all fell off the train. We tried so hard to climb back on and keep it chugging along, but in the end, it just came to a full stop. That doesn't happen very often, we usually manage to find a way to get it back on course somehow, but this time it was just as well 'cause it was heading straight on into the great wall of china. Ah well, Paul was so kind in saying that, it was only 1 song. Sad though, 'cause don't know when will we have another show in the future. I mean, we're loosely talking about NYE but it's not firm yet and don't know what the future holds. I would hate to have this memory as our last gig! :P Then again, it sure was memorable! Ha!

Hanging out w/ all the band folks was funny too. Most of them all so much younger than us it makes me feel like such a hag. But they're all very nice "kids" and glad to have a chance to get to know them more. Sometimes I wonder what do they think of us, bunch of old folks still chugging along trying to be all rock n roll, while some of us (reads: Me) just plain suck at playing that I don't even know why bother to begin with. But I guess as long as I'm having a good time and learning, given that people around me continue to be tolerant and so kind as to let me play with them, then that is the point of playing, right?
