Getting Lazy

I have said this before, but I swear, ever since I started tweeting, I've been getting lazier in updating this blog. Twitter offers such instantaneous gratification that blog writing seems just so clunky and passe. But of course, tweets can only be very short, but that's also the beauty of it. Quick and easy.

Anyway, let's see what's been going on in my life these days...

Oh, El D had a gig last Friday, and right after that, I ran over to see Sham69. They're still cranking it out, putting on a rocking show, but the sound was simply AWFUL!!! The club where they played supposedly has good system, but like everything, the equipment is only as good as the people who operates it. Doesn't matter if you have the best sound system in the whole wide world, it's absolutely useless if nobody knows how to use it. And that's exactly the case here. They do have a decent system, but they don't have a sound man who knows how to use it properly. Arggg, the aggravation!

And on the same night, I did something that I've never done before! No, I didn't shoot up any drugs, or downed 10 shots of tequila. I went with some friends to sing karaoke... At 2 In The Freaking Morning! Yes, you read correctly, I did say TWO IN THE MORNING. I think I've only done Karaoke once or twice before this, not exactly my favorite thing to do, but since my friends were all going and I thought it could be an interesting experience, so I went with. Not much to write home about on singing a lot of VERY cheesy songs. But in case if you thought going to sing Karaoke at 2 in the morning was outrageous, when we left at around 4am, there were still people coming in!!! I'm not sure if I should feel impressed by them, if they're crazy, or there's something wrong with me. One thing for sure though, I sure felt OLD!

Today, I got together with Johno and Davy to learn some Pogues songs. There's a music festival in Zhuhai coming up where they're suppose to play. They also want to put together a Pogues tribute band together and play a few tunes at the festival, and have asked me to play the bass on it. We went through 6 or 8 songs and now I have a lot of homework to do! Should be interesting regardless how it'll all turn out. It'll be a good experience for me anyway.

Tomorrow El D rehearsal, and going to Koya's studio to record some songs on Thursday and Friday. Two of which will go on the Roots Rumble compilation, the rest we'll figure out something to do with them.
