Packed and started driving. First, we had a quick visit to Pilsen, where we used to live, and the Maxwell Street area. Maxwell Street has so changed that if you didn't tell me I was in that area, I wouldn't have known. The whole area has become condo land. That's a huge difference from the days of lively and colorful open ghetto markets with street food galore and random, even some impromptu, blues jams.
Stopped and visited KJ in Blue Island. She and Vince has a nice and cute house, and not as little as she describes it sometimes. Funky, including the basement it's got 5 different levels though! Ha! Nice big yard. Vince is quite the handyman and gardener! Who knew! :)
Towards Champaign we charged. Got in and found Carlos's home. Tiff, Sophia and Nina were all there. Carlos was on the job making dinner on the grill. He made some delicious salmon, corn, asparagus, a salad and some dirty rice. The boy can cook! Again, who knew! :)
Talked about their business empire a bit, and walked over to get some coffee and dropped in on Jupiter's South, a club that they own that's nearby. We then watched s few episodes of Party Down. My first time experienced Roku system. Pretty cool!
Time to bed and down to the basement we went. T pretty much started to react immediately, breathing hard and whizing a little. He sort of managed to sleep through the night I think.
