Virginia

Friday, August 7, 2009

Started driving into Virginia today. Even though it wasn't too far (in TX terms), it still took us most of the day. But by 4pm we finally made it into Lynchburg. Tunji's parents looked well, except that Ev's leg is still swollen, wrapped and in a brace, and using a walker.

Although he's not in pain, the ankle was twisted and made it hard to walk on. There are exercises that he does daily and hopefully that'll strengthen his ankle eventually. However, one of the legs is 2 inches shorter than the other due to the surgery that the doctor had to perform in order to put in some steel rod into his leg to rebuild part of his thigh bone or something... Unfortunately, the unevenness of the legs is gonna stay that way, so they have ordered a pair of special shoes that will compensate the height difference, and to alleviate the stress that he puts on the good leg when he walks, so that the good leg will stay... well, good. But this pair of special shoes will be his shoes for the rest of his life. Well, I guess one good thing is that it'll cut down any future expenses on buying new shoes! But other than that, if that's not enough already, they both look good and seemed to be healthy.

We had dinner, chatted, and to bed... well, I went to bed, like any normal person, into the bedroom; and Tunji went to sleep in the van, because of his terrible allergies, there's no way he can sleep in the house.
